Spain’s Q1 GDP quarterly growth confirmed at 0.6%

June 25 (Reuters) – Spain’s gross domestic product grew 0.6% in ​the first quarter ‌of 2026, below the 0.8% growth in the previous ​quarter, the country’s ​National Statistics Institute (INE) said on ⁠Thursday, confirming both the expectations ​of analysts polled by ​Reuters and the preliminary data.
On an annual basis, Spain’s first-quarter economic ​output expanded by 2.7%, ​also confirming INE’s preliminary reading and ‌the ⁠analysts expectations.
The Bank of Spain said last week that it expects GDP ​to grow ​0.5%-0.6% ⁠in the second quarter from the ​previous three months ​and ⁠kept the 2026 GDP growth forecast at 2.3% ⁠and ​at 1.7% ​for 2027.
