India’s net direct tax collections rise 13% from April 1-Sept 17

NEW DELHI, Sept 18 (Reuters) – India’s net ​direct tax collections ‌rose 13% year-on-year to 12.1 trillion ​rupees ($126.28 billion) ​between April 1 and ⁠September 17, ​the country’s tax ​department said in a statement on Friday.

Direct tax ​collections, which ​include corporate and income ‌tax, ⁠rose over 15% year-on-year on gross basis to ​14.3 ​trillion ⁠rupees ($149.24 billion) during the ​same period, the ​department ⁠said.
