Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy leads Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Cleanliness Drive; calls for collective action towards a cleaner India

Union Minister for coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy, along with Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Shri Keshav Chandra, and senior officials of the Ministry and NDMC, participated in the cleanliness drive organised under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 at Yashwant Palace Market, Chanakyapuri, ahead of Gandhi Jayanti.

During the cleanliness drive, Shri G. Kishan Reddy interacted with sanitation workers and acknowledged their dedicated contribution towards keeping public spaces clean. He emphasised that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and called upon citizens to actively contribute towards maintaining clean surroundings.

The Minister called upon citizens to avoid littering and throwing garbage in drains, public spaces, roads and water bodies, and to refrain from throwing waste from buildings or other places. He stressed that maintaining cleanliness requires collective awareness and sustained public participation.

Shri G. Kishan Reddy highlighted the importance of recognising and respecting the contribution of sanitation workers, who begin their work early in the day to ensure clean surroundings for citizens. He called for greater public participation to make cleanliness an integral part of everyday life.

As part of the programme, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation was also undertaken by the Union Minister, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, and senior officials. The initiative reinforced the message of environmental responsibility and the importance of creating cleaner and greener surroundings.

The programme highlighted the spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva and the importance of collective action in keeping public spaces clean and contributing towards a cleaner and greener India.

The Union Minister expressed his appreciation to sanitation workers, officials and all stakeholders for their participation and contribution towards the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative.
