Taiwan’s China Airlines orders 14 Boeing 777X planes

May 8 (Reuters) – Boeing said on Thursday that Taiwan’s China Airlines (2610.TW), placed an order for 14 Boeing 777X wide-body planes.
The order includes 10 Boeing 777-9 passenger planes and four Boeing 777-8 freighter planes, the company said.
In addition to the order, the airline also has options to purchase five 777- 9s and four 777-8 freighters.
In December, Taiwan’s largest carrier said it would buy 10 Boeing 777-9 aircraft and 10 Airbus A350-1000s as well as four 777-8 freighter aircraft for $11.9 billion at list prices, with deliveries for the new aircraft starting from 2029.
