Bihar’s renowned Methodist Hospital has been awarded the first prize by the Health Ministry for its excellent contribution in the tuberculosis eradication campaign. On Tuesday, 17th September, during a function organized in the auditorium of State Health Welfare Committee, Patna, Methodist Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh (Dr. R.K. Singh) was honored with a certificate and a shawl.
Along with this, Health Minister Mangal Pandey awarded the second prize to Dr. Sarika Rai, a doctor from Patna, and the third prize to Dr. Abhishek, a doctor from Gopalganj, from other two private medical institutions. On this occasion, the Health Minister also inaugurated Differentiated TB Care. The Superintendent of Methodist Hospital and Secretary of Methodist Medical Council of India, who was honoured with the award by the Health Minister of the State Government, expressed his happiness and said that in the state level program organized by the Health Department of the State Government, the departmental minister has honoured the 6 districts Buxar, Siwan, Sitamarhi, Munger, Khagaria and Muzaffarpur, which have performed excellently in the initiative of TB free Panchayat, for TB testing in the year 2024, payment of Nischay Poshan Yojana, apart from maximum notification by private institutions and private doctors and providing support to TB patients, private doctors, TB Champion, STS, STLS, DPC, DEO, Communicable Disease Officer (Tuberculosis) and Civil Surgeon have been honoured with a certificate. Further, Superintendent Dr. Singh, who was honoured by the government, has expressed his gratitude towards the employees of Methodist Hospital. He said that there is a provision for the treatment of many diseases including tuberculosis in the Methodist Hospital.
