PRAGUE, Nov 7 (Reuters) – Czech Republic-based online grocer Rohlik Group will partner with Amazon (AMZN.O), for e-grocery services in Germany to help it expand in Europe’s biggest economy, the company said on Thursday.
Rohlik, operating under the Knuspr.de brand in Germany, has said it has plans to operate in more than a dozen German cities in the coming years after having already launched in Munich, Frankfurt, and most recently, Berlin.
It said it would provide its products and delivery to Amazon Prime members as part of the new partnership with Amazon.de, which will be tried out initially in Berlin.
“While Knuspr.de will continue to serve customers directly, this collaboration aims to expand Rohlik’s reach and reinforces its position in the German market,” said Rohlik founder and chief executive Tomas Cupr.
Rohlik, a privately held company valued at more than $1 billion in 2021, has sought strong expansion around Europe and, with over one million monthly orders, expects its revenue to surpass 1 billion euros in 2024.
