The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and its institutes have registered remarkable achievements under the fifth edition of the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM 5.0). With a steadfast focus on institutionalising Swachhata (cleanliness), space optimisation, scrap disposal and resulting revenue generation, and swift grievance redressal, the Ministry, with its institutes, has demonstrated exceptional governance and administrative efficiency.
As part of the SCDPM 5.0, the Ministry conducted 20 cleanliness drives across its 10 offices and institutes between December 2025 and August 2026. These relentless efforts translated into significant milestones in resource optimisation and revenue generation, freeing up 54,815 sq. ft. of office space for more productive use. In addition, scrap and waste disposal initiatives unlocked a substantial cumulative revenue of Rs. 1.57 Crores for the exchequer. Additionally, files were systematically weeded, and 750 physical and 177 e-files were successfully closed, streamlining office documentation and promoting the digital transition.
The Ministry also demonstrated high responsiveness and efficiency in addressing public grievances, references from dignitaries, and inter-ministerial proposals. One Parliamentary Assurance, 17 and 37 References from PMO and MPs, respectively and 304 Public Grievances were successfully addressed. All IMC References (Cabinet Proposals) and Public Grievance Appeals were resolved, achieving 100% addressal rate.
