Secretary SJE Administers Swachhata Pledge To Officers And Officials

‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign To Conclude On 2nd October 20

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, commenced the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 today. The campaign will continue until 2nd October 2026, reaffirming the Department’s commitment to cleanliness and collective public participation.

On the occasion, the Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Sudhansh Pant administered the Swachhata Pledge to officers and officials of all ranks of the Department while other officials took the pledge at their respective seats and offices. The officers and officials posted at other locations also participated from their respective workplaces.

The Organisations under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment had been directed to organize the Swachhata Pledge at their stationed offices, ensuring wider participation in the campaign across the Department and its institutions.

Through the pledge, participants committed themselves to cleanliness, to devoting 100 hours every year – two hours every week – to voluntary cleanliness work, and to neither litter nor allow others to litter. They also resolved to begin the pursuit of cleanliness with themselves, their families, localities, villages and workplaces, and to encourage others to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The observance highlighted that sustained individual action and community participation are central to building clean workplaces, neighbourhoods, villages, towns and a cleaner nation.
