WASHINGTON, March 17 (Reuters) – Illinois Lieutenant ​Governor Juliana ‌Stratton on Tuesday won ​the Democratic ​nomination to run ⁠for U.S. ​Senate in ​Illinois, NBC News projected.
Illinois is a ​heavily Democratic ​state, meaning that ‌Stratton ⁠is favored to win the November ​general ​election ⁠to succeed veteran ​U.S. ​Senator ⁠Dick Durbin.
