BEIJING, Feb 13 (Reuters) – China’s Ministry of Commerce met representatives from over 60 German companies and organisations, including BASF, BMW Group and Bayer it said on Friday, adding that both countries are committed to a fair and stable business environment.
The meeting on Thursday was chaired by Ling Ji, China’s vice minister of commerce and included the German Chamber of Commerce and officials from China’s Commerce Ministry, National Development and Reform Commission, State Intellectual Property office and Cyberspace Administration of China.
China actively responded to German companies’ concerns regarding government procurement, intellectual property protection and optimising the business environment, the Commerce Ministry said in a statement.
Ling said that China would “steadfastly expand high-level opening-up and continue to promote high-quality development, which would bring tremendous opportunities for China-German economic trade and cooperation”.
Both countries have significant potential for cooperation in innovation, green development and the digital age and hope that German companies will increase exports of high-quality products and technologies to China, he said.
