Students across the country can register till October 11 for Vikasit Bharat Buildathon 2025 , India’s largest student innovation movement.
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) , NITI Aayog , has launched the Develop India Buildathon 2025. This is a nationwide innovation movement to engage students from nearly 250,000 schools across the country. This is India’s largest student innovation initiative to date and a historic step towards the vision of Develop India @ 2047 .
To encourage and recognize student innovators, schools will submit their entries in the form of photos and videos. A panel of experts will evaluate the entries, and the top teams will be awarded prizes worth ₹ 1 crore. In addition to recognition , these schools and students will receive long-term support through corporate endorsements , guidance, and resources to further strengthen their innovations.
Key features of Buildathon:
• Students from across the country will innovate together in the world’s largest live innovation activity
• Practical , experiential learning in line with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020
• Inclusive participation with special focus on aspirational districts , tribal and remote areas
The Develop India Buildathon 2025 calls upon students to dream big , innovate fearlessly and contribute towards making India a developed nation by 2047. Every school and every student is invited to join this movement and showcase their talent and make their mark as the innovators of the future.
The Buildathon calls on students in grades 6 to 12 to join forces , think creatively, and develop models that address real-life challenges. Students will work on four topics of national importance:
• Vocal for Local – Promoting local products , crafts and resources
• Atmanirbhar Bharat – Building self-reliant systems and solutions
• Swadeshi – Promoting indigenous ideas and innovation
• Samriddh Bharat – Creating Pathways to Prosperity and Sustainable Development
Timeline:
• September 23, 2025: Launch of the Develop India Buildathon
•September 23 – October 11, 2025: Registration by students
• October 13, 2025: Nationwide live buildathon across all schools
• November 2025: Evaluation of entries
• December 2025: Winners announced
